Belinda Eaton is a British artist born in the Sixties. After obtaining a BA Fine Art degree at St Martin’s School of Fine Art in London she completed a post-graduate etching programme at the Central School of Art in London in 1984.

She is a modern acrylic painter, famous for her untypical conventional portrait paintings. She prepares all her canvases with a blackened gesso, followed by an assertive approach with a strong intuitive feel for the content she portrays, with powerful vibrant chromatics, exotic patterns with intense figuration and brushwork. Although her works are quite traditional and most influenced by the early Renaissance, she is not influenced by any artist, yet finds the work of artists like Ron Mueck, Rothko and Paula Rego truly inspiring.

She has exhibited internationally in Germany, Cannes, London, Madrid, Karachi, New York and Spain. Belinda Eaton's paintings and portraits are in several collections worldwide.

Having lived and travelled extensively to various cities like Mombasa in Kenya, London, New York, France, Karachi and Barcelona, truly living a nomadic life, Belinda is currently residing in Andalucia, Spain.

"My paintings are my world, my fascination for people, plants, animals and colour. They are how I perceive things with all their energy."
Belinda Eaton – 2005.
