Canuto Kallan was born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1960. He graduated as a cabinet-maker and was awarded a Silver Medal for woodworking from the Queen of Denmark. This later followed a Master of Science degree in Engineering and then a scholarship to Florence, Italy in the restoration of wood at the Instituto per I’Arte e il Restauro, Florence. Kallan then moved to Greece where he studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts graduating with distinctions and still resides in Greece today.

Kallan’s art expresses a strong influence from the Cobra movement and Expressionism within his mostly multi-figural compositions.
